The exhibition activity of the La Mongolfiera art gallery resumes with enthusiasm with the personal exhibition "Ironic poetry The world of Lisandro Rota" which can be visited starting from Saturday 2 December.

Lisandro Rota was born in Lucca in 1946. After obtaining a diploma in accounting, he began his self-taught painting activity in 1969, encouraged by his wife who gave him his first box of paints and an easel.
He soon took part in personal and collective exhibitions and competitions in various Italian cities, receiving acclaim from critics and the public.
Initially he is attracted by the landscape genre, he gradually moves away from it, adding surreal notes to his pictorial language: his worlds and the characters that populate them are characterized by a subtle restlessness that attracts the viewer.
From the early 2000s, Rota arrived at the current style and technique where a much more soothing figuration serves him to affectionately mock the human being and his habits, sometimes personified by an emblematic Lady Maria.

The life of housewives and their need to escape from the daily routine with imagination, stories with the flavor of other times, such as trips to the sixteenth century, going fishing or watching football matches at the bar, managing savings are the main themes addressed by the artist with a smile and sometimes with a veiled melancholy.

The exhibition, curated by Gioia Quicquaro, art historian, will be inaugurated on Saturday 2 December at 6.00 pm and can be visited until 13 January every day at the La Mongolfiera Art Gallery in via Roma 50 in Sanremo from 3.30 pm to 7.00 pm; Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday also from 10.00 to 12.00, closed on Monday mornings and holidays (extraordinary opening 8 December 10.00-12.00 and 15.30-19.00).
