Riccardo Biavati e la Bottega delle Stelle

Riccardo Biavati e la Bottega delle Stelle

If ceramic art is often considered a minor and less noble art than the others, with the exhibition by Riccardo Biavati and the Bottega delle Stelle even the most skeptical will have to think again admiring the depth and the great technical skill of this artist.
The ceramics of Biavati, a Ferrara artist, are not just simple aesthetic exercises but, once shaped and modeled, they acquire their own aura, they become characters, icons and sometimes real divinities. The material is for the artist from Ferrara the "white canvas" of the painter, a surface on which to experiment shapes, textures, colors. His ceramics and those of the Bottega delle Stelle, of which he is the artistic director and whose care is entrusted to his wife Antonella Manfredini, tell small, great and poetic stories of woods, trees, hills asleep where the "night watchmen" live: owls, barn owls.
The enchanted world of the artist is also populated by characters that seem to materialize from the past and from ceramics of daily use such as pots, incense burners, bowls that are raised to works of art.

The exhibition, curated by Gioia Quicquaro, art historian, will be inaugurated on Saturday 1st December at 6 pm and will be open until 6 January 2019 every day at the La Mongolfiera Art Gallery in via Roma 50 in Sanremo, from 9.30 am to 12.30 and from 3.30 to 7.30 pm, except Monday mornings and holidays.
